Work Status
The World’s First AI Sculpture.
During a biennale, a new sculpture was created every eight seconds. From this rhythm emerged a body of work consisting of 1,111,440 sculptures: the world’s first AI sculpture.
8SECONDS is the moment in which this work form encounters the body. Friedemann Vogel, world star of dance, interacts with an artistic AI whose sculptural appearances emerge, disappear and reconfigure themselves in real time.
Dance does not remain an image motif. It is transferred into an algorithmic system. Physical presence, movement and transience become sculptural generation.
A body-bound art form is transferred into an autonomous, algorithmic form of work.
8SECONDS
Body becomes algorithm.
In 8SECONDS, Friedemann Vogel’s performance influences the form of the sculptures. At the same time, the emerging sculpture acts back upon the movement.
A closed artistic system comes into being: dance, AI, sculpture and film are no longer separate media, but different states of a single work entity.
The NFT does not simply preserve an image. It fixes a state of a work whose very principle lies in permanent overwriting.
Real Time
The work exists as execution. Time is not a frame, but material.
Autonomy
The AI is not a tool, but an active participant in the emergence of the work.
Singularity
Each appearance is unrepeatable. The previous work disappears as the law of the work itself.

The tectonic rupture.
The history of visual art can be described as a long sequence of attempts to bind human experience into matter. From the archaic figure to modern sculpture, the work remained bound to physical presence, gesture and material.
With AI Sculpture, this foundation shifts. The work no longer appears as a static object, but as a processual event: from an anthropocentric act of creation to an autonomous, non-biological work entity.
8SECONDS radicalizes this shift: the body-bound art of dance is not documented, but transferred into an algorithmic form. The body is not depicted. It becomes the trigger of a sculptural system.
